Big Y Takes Step Toward Opening Orange Store
The grocery store will open in a space formerly occupied by a large retailer.
ORANGE, CT — Big Y has applied for building permits to build a grocery store in Orange, according to The Connecticut Scoop.
The supermarket will be at 220 Indian River Road, the former home of Christmas Tree Shops.

The space will be entirely gutted and renovated, with Big Y's typical brick facade out front, The Connecticut Scoop reported. The renovations are expected to cost $6.6 million.
The store is planning to open in 2027.

The Orange Plan and Zoning Commission unanimously approved plans for the 67,400-square-foot store at a meeting in August.
