Obituary: Gay Ann Flammia (Porto Funeral Homes)

Gay Ann Flammia, known for her caring, curious, and ambitious spirit, peacefully passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 62. She was born on November 20, 1963, to the late Patricia Manware and Pasquale Fuggi.

Gay Ann was a woman of deep faith and a creative spirit, with a special love for art and poetry. She was curious about the world around her and ambitious in the things she pursued. Throughout her life, she selflessly supported and guided the people around her, always willing to offer encouragement, wisdom, or a helping hand. She believed in the people she loved and was often the person others could turn to for support. Her ambition remained a defining part of who she was until the very end of her life. She never stopped dreaming, imagining what was possible, or looking for ways to pursue the life she wanted for herself and those she loved.

Some of Gay Ann's greatest joy came from being a grandmother. She spent much of her life caring for her grandchildren, watching them full-time and being a constant presence in their everyday lives as they grew. To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as Gamma and Bana. She treasured the ordinary moments just as much as the special ones, and she created countless memories with them that they will carry throughout their lives. Being a grandmother brought her tremendous happiness, and the love, comfort, and guidance she gave her grandchildren will remain a lasting part of their lives.

Gay Ann was predeceased by her beloved son, Kyle Stevens. She is survived by her children, Christina Haley and her husband, Evan Haley, Gabriella Flammia, and Nicholas Flammia and his fiancée, Eve Hein; her grandchildren, Brooklynn Haley, Alaina Haley, Chase Haley, Emmanuel Willoughby, and Amiyah Lewis; her sisters, Joy Fuggi and Jill Fuggi; and her brother, Guy Fuggi. She is also survived by her former husbands, Mark Stevens and Clinton Flammia, who remained cherished members of her family throughout her life.

Gay Ann's faith, creativity, curiosity, and devotion to her family were at the heart of who she was. She leaves behind a family who will remember her not only for the love she gave them, but for the many ways she made herself a part of their lives. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

Family and friends may call SUNDAY from 2:00-4:00 PM at the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven. A Parlor Service will be held at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private.
