Man Faces Murder Charge In 'Untimely Death' At Ridgefield Home: Police

Police are holding a man on a murder charge following the discovery of an older man dead inside a Ridgefield residence early Saturday.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Police are holding a man on a murder charge following the discovery of an older man dead inside a Powderhorn Drive residence early Saturday.

Officers were called to the home at around 1:00 a.m. for a domestic incident, when "it was determined that an elderly male was deceased inside the residence," police Capt. Jeff Raines said in a news release.

Steven James Urrichio, 31, was taken into custody without incident, Raines said. He is being held at Police HQ is being held on a $1.5 million bond and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Danbury Aug. 5.

The incident is "isolated" and "there is no danger to the public," Raines said.
