Ridgefield Short-Term Rental Rules Gain Support From Economic Development Commission
Ridgefield ECDC supports new short-term rental rules approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Economic and Community Development Commission is lauding the Planning and Zoning Commission’s approval of new short-term rental regulations.
The regulations set guidelines for short-term rentals in Ridgefield. Homeowners may operate short-term rentals under either a zoning permit or a special permit, with limits on the number of lodging stays each year, according to the ECDC.

ECDC Commissioner Bob Knight said the regulations could provide additional lodging options for visitors attending performances, business events or visiting downtown Ridgefield. Those visitors may spend money at local stores and restaurants, Knight said.
“The ECDC applauds the Planning & Zoning Commission for adopting a thoughtful approach that supports economic vitality while respecting our residential neighborhoods,” Knight said.
The ECDC said the regulations are intended to support tourism and local business activity while preserving the character of Ridgefield neighborhoods.
