Nearly 1,500 Illegal Cannabis Products Seized During Inspection At Shelton Smoke Shop: Police
Police said nearly 1,500 illegal cannabis-related products were seized during a recent compliance inspection at a Shelton smoke shop.

SHELTON, CT — Nearly 1,500 illegal cannabis-related products were seized during a recent compliance inspection at a Shelton smoke shop, according to the Shelton Police Department.
In a news release posted to Facebook Tuesday, police said the department's Crime Prevention Unit conducted a compliance inspection at Breeze 2 Smoke Shop on Bridgeport Avenue in coordination with several state agencies.
According to police, officers seized 1,479 illegal cannabis-related products during the inspection, including 229 THC edibles (21.2 pounds), 479 THC vape concentrates (10.0 pounds) and 771 cannabis flower products (5.37 pounds) for a combined total of approximately 36.6 pounds.

"Investigators determined the business was not licensed to sell cannabis products and was operating in violation of state regulations," police said in a news release. "The Connecticut Department of Labor issued a stop work order, resulting in the immediate closure of the business."
An arrest warrant was obtained for the business' owner following the investigation, according to police.

Naji Alabdi, 36, of Bronx, N.Y., was arrested Monday on an active warrant, police said.
He was charged with sale of one kilogram or more of cannabis.
He later posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to police.
