SHELTON, CT — The Shelton Police Department reminds residents that "illegal riding will not be tolerated" in the city as the weather warms up.

In a public service announcement posted to Facebook this week, police said "dirt bikes, ATVs, quads and motorcycles on roadways, doing wheelies or riding [on] the wrong side of the road creates a serious public safety risk."

According to the department, all vehicles must be properly equipped, insured and registered to operate on roadways.
