Board of Selectmen Meeting April 20, 2026
This is a quote from Shakespear’s Othello,” Who steals my purse steals trash; ‘tis something, nothing; ‘twas mine, tis his, and has been slave to thousands; But he that flinches from me my good name Robs me of that which not enriches him and makes me poor indeed.”
The ranting and raving during public audience at the March 23,2026 Board of Selectmen meeting by Lisa Antonio, wifeof Deputy First Selectman Steven Antonio, was an aggressive attack on my good name.

When someone challenges Steve Antonio by confronting his total disdain for regulations he goes go on the attack, “kill the messenger.”
It has always been the laws are for thee, not for me in the Antonio household.

The issues raised by Lisa Antonio were all posted on the Town Building Department page that all can review.
I posted on twitter@joancoe, the page with no COs for the 2020 renovation, all public knowledge, confirmed by the past Building Official.
This happens to be the area where the fire started.
The picture I took of the smoke coming out of the Antonio residence was taken from across the street and forwarded to the media, not on the property as Lisa Antonio stated.
Lisa Antonio stated she can’t feel safe around Joan Coe but was perfectly complacent when a July 4, 2018, party at the Antonio residence with 250 attendees were viewing illegal fireworks being detonated on the property.
Through the Freedom of Information Act, I received a copy of the Fire Marshall report, 17 pages, that I posted on my social media platform, twitter@joancoe.
Did Lisa Antonio feel safe at the illegal fireworks display on her property?
Lisa Antonio stated that the sign, “Call Your Mother,” was legal, it was not.
Joe Hollis, Code Compliance Officer, stated in an email, “The original sign submission for the Antonio Restaurant building that was approved, had only one sign on the building.
The second sign, “Call Your Mother” was not on the original submission and it was determined that it constituted a violation.”
Lisa Antonio has stood before the board creating her own reality of events which should be considered “fake news.”
All my activities were legal as compared to issues the Antonio family created by not following the rules.
When Deputy Selectman Steve Antonio’s verbal assault was not affective, his wife, Lisa Antonio who is under treatment for cancer, came to his defense to use the Board of Selectmen meeting to continue the verbal assault.
It is a disgrace that Deputy First Selectman Steve Antonio needs to have his medically challenged wife to publicly berate a person for following the rules that he does not follow.
Deputy First Selectman Steve Antonio is not above the rule of law.
The Antonio family keeps talking about GOTCHA when it is CATCHYA.
Is it GOTCHA when people get arrested for Family Violence, or CATCHYA?
Is it GOTCHA when people’s name appears on the Epstein Files or CATCHYA?
Is it GOTCHA when people are arrested for FRAUD or CATCHYA?
Is it GOTCHA when people are arrested for DUI or CATCHYA?
Is it GOTTCHA when people are arrested for speeding or CATCHYA
Is it GOTCHA when you detonate illegal fireworks with 250 people in attendance or CATCHYA?
It appears the Antonio family is caught in a reality check that, “all men are created equal under the law”.
Deputy First Selectman Steve Antonio’s actions make him unfit for public service and he should resign immediately.
Public Audience was a set-up with what appears to be prier notice given to First Selectman Wendy Macstutis and Deputy Selectman Steve Antonio, that Lisa Antonio would speak last…no chance for a rebuttal.
However, I did not sign up on the sheet, giving me an opportunity to speak after the assigned names.
Although I did not sign the sheet, First Selectman Wendy Mackstutis called me first, changing the rules so there would not be a rebuttal of the dialog presented by Lisa Antonio.
Since this was a violation of the rules, I asked for a copy of the sign-up sheet for that meeting.
I was told by Deputy Tom Fitzgerald that the sign-up sheet was destroyed.
As a result of Tom Fitzgerald’s actions, I filed a complaint with the State Records Retention Department for a finding.
I discussed my complaint with Town Manager Marc Nelson and he admitted that it was a violation of the Record Retention Laws and from now on the files will be retained.
It appears that Firat Selectman Wendy Macstutis and Deputy First Selectman are colluding, with the approval of entire board, to destroy the reputation of a 60-year resident of the Town of Simsbury.
