Event details:

  • Date: Thursday, April 23rd
  • Time: 7:00–8:30 PM
  • Location: Southbury Public Library

SPARK is designed to connect the community with artists and thinkers whose work sparks dialogue, creativity, and cultural reflection. This second exchange places a spotlight on how art can deepen our understanding of America’s past, making it especially timely as communities across the country prepare to commemorate America’s Semiquincentennial.

Don Troiani, a Southbury resident, is one of the nation’s foremost historical painters, widely respected for his meticulously researched and highly detailed depictions of American military history. His work is distinguished by an extraordinary commitment to accuracy and his paintings are featured in major museums and publications.

Through this SPARK program, Troiani will share insights into his artistic process, the stories behind his iconic works, and the role of visual art in preserving and interpreting history. His work offers a compelling lens through which to explore the founding era, aligning closely with the themes of America’s 250th—reflection, education, and renewed appreciation for the nation’s origins
