Free Southbury Green Expo To Feature Recycling Drive, Vendors, Family Activities
Residents are invited to Pomperaug Elementary School for a free event focused on greener living and recycling.
SOUTHBURY, CT — A free, family-friendly event focused on sustainability is coming to Southbury next month — and it’s offering residents a chance to recycle items that aren’t always easy to get rid of.
Residents and surrounding communities are invited to the Southbury Green Expo 2026, an event focused on sustainability, community engagement and practical ways to live greener.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, at Pomperaug Elementary School, 607 Main Street South.

Organizers say the event will feature a recycling drive where attendees can drop off items such as electronics, clothing, plastic bags, corks, ink cartridges and eyeglasses.
The expo will also include local vendors, artisans and organizations offering eco-friendly products and services, along with educational resources on reducing waste and conserving energy.

Family-friendly activities and interactive exhibits are planned, along with a student sustainability contest highlighting projects inspired by the “Seven Rs,” according to organizers.
Door prizes and giveaways will also be available throughout the event.
