New Bookstore Opening Soon In Southbury: What To Know

The two sisters behind the new shop say opening a bookstore has been a longtime dream.

SOUTHBURY, CT — A new independent bookstore is preparing to open its doors in Southbury later this month.

Little Fox Bookshop will celebrate its grand opening Sept. 26 and 27 at 142 Main Street North, according to the bookstore’s website.

The shop is the creation of two sisters who said opening a bookstore has been a longtime dream.

“We are two sisters who have always shared a deep love for stories and the magic they bring, and we are pursuing our lifelong dream of opening a bookshop,” the owners wrote on the store’s website.

The sisters said they hope to create a space centered around books, creativity and community.

“Our desire is to build a place where people can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enter a place of whimsy, wonder, and warmth—a true haven for people to experience the community and power of a good story,” they wrote.

Little Fox Bookshop has already begun promoting its opening on social media and is selling store merchandise online ahead of the grand opening.
