Employee Crushed In Workplace Accident In Southington: FD

A patient was hospitalized after suffering crush injuries involving a vehicle at a local business operation.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A patient was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after suffering crush injuries involving a salvage vehicle at Chuck & Eddie's Used Auto Parts in Southington, according to the Southington Fire Department.

Southington firefighters, police and AMR responded at 3:26 p.m. to Chuck & Eddie's, 425 Old Turnpike Road, for a reported crush injury, SFD Capt. Daniel Comen said.

Emergency crews arrived to find a patient whose lower extremities had been crushed by a salvage vehicle, according to Comen.

Emergency medical care was provided at the scene before the patient was transported to the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain.
