Meet Southington's Candidates Courtesy of Local Chamber
Candidates for five state legislative seats serving Southington are invited to an Oct. 13 public forum at the town library.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington-area voters will have an opportunity to hear from candidates for five state legislative seats during a public forum on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
The Southington Regional Chamber of Commerce will host its 2026 Meet the Candidates Public Forum from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the community room at the Southington Public Library, 255 Main St.

- State Senate District 16: Republican incumbent Robert C. Sampson and Democrat Jack Perry.
- State House District 30: Republican incumbent Donna Veach and Democrat Linda Pierce.
- State House District 80: Republican incumbent Gale Mastrofrancesco and Democrat Cheryl Hilton.
- State House District 81: Democratic incumbent Chris Poulos and Republican Tim Wilk.
- State House District 22: Democratic incumbent Rebecca Martinez and Republican Rich Mette.
The chamber said the forum is intended to give voters an opportunity to learn where candidates stand on issues affecting Connecticut, Southington and local families. Candidate participation is voluntary.
Anthony J. Urillo, identified by the chamber as a lifelong Southington resident, will serve as moderator.

The event is open to the public, but registration is requested because seating is limited. Residents may also submit questions for the candidates through the chamber's event page.
The names of people submitting questions will remain anonymous, according to the chamber.
