'Taste of Southington' Returns With Food, Live Music At Local Museum

The 25th annual Taste of Southington returns Aug. 5 with local food vendors, live music, free museum access and family activities.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The 25th Annual Taste of Southington will return to the Barnes Museum on Wednesday, Aug. 5, offering an evening of local food, live entertainment and family-friendly activities.

The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. on the grounds of the Barnes Museum, 85 N. Main St. Admission is free.

Visitors can sample offerings from a variety of local restaurants and food vendors, including several food trucks in the museum's new parking lot.

The event will also feature free preview tours of the museum's first floor.

Live music will be provided by the Stanley Street Big Band from 5 to 7 p.m., while Valentine the Clown will entertain children and families throughout the event.

Museum organizers said tents and seating will be available for attendees.

After the Taste of Southington concludes, visitors can continue the evening by walking to the nearby Southington Town Green for the community's weekly Music on the Green concert series.

Parking for the event will be available at the municipal lot located at 1 Riccio Way, a short walk from the museum.
