The old Bank of America building on Main Street was sold to a local company last month by the Town of Southington.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — A long-vacant bank building acquired by the Town of Southington has now officially been sold to a developer who plans to turn it into a restaurant.
O, R & L Commercial Real Estate out of Branford/Rocky Hill announced Thursday the late December sale of the two-story, former bank/office building located in downtown Southington at 22 Main Street.
O, R & L represented the town in the sale, which was for $675,000.

The former Bank of America building has been OK'd for conversion into a restaurant featuring indoor/outdoor seating and a rooftop patio.
Southington-based A & K Woodworking LLC purchased the property from the Town of Southington as a precursor to developing the site.

It filed a site plan application with the Southington Planning and Zoning Commission to turn the bank building into a restaurant.
The PZC Oct. 21 unanimously said "yes" to the plan, clearing the way for the December 2025 purchase.
This approval followed a special exception for alcohol service, and the project aims to revitalize the long-vacant site into a new dining destination, according to O, R & L.
“We were pleased to represent the Town of Southington in the disposition of this property and to help facilitate a transaction that positions the building for its next chapter,” said Toby Brimberg of O, R & L Commercial.
