Free & Open to the Public
The Watershed History Collective, formerly known as the Friends of Wood Memorial Library, invite you to explore their 15th Annual Gingerbread House Festival: Gingy in Toyland. This beloved, annual, holiday event begins Thanksgiving weekend, and runs from Friday, November 28th thru Sunday, December 14th, 2025 with open hours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
This year, due to ongoing construction at Wood Library, the festival is moving to a new venue, less than a mile away “as the crow flies”, to Nomads Adventure Quest in South Windsor.
Visitors can still stroll past fairy tale houses and fantasy trains covered with bright, colorful candy, all created by regional artisans and bakers, expert and beginner alike. Patrons will still be able to take home a bit of the magic by shopping “Ye Olde Gingerbread Shoppe” with its many holiday themed gifts and treats. And holiday revelers will still be able to support a cherished local nonprofit all while taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season to gaze upon dozens of gingerbread masterpieces.
The Gingerbread House Festival is FREE and open to the public, however it is the Watershed History Collective’s largest fundraiser, and donations from visitors are greatly appreciated. Game packages will also be available for purchase for the young and the young at heart who want to immerse themselves in Nomad’s “Toyland” atmosphere.
Nomads Adventure Quest is located at 100 Bidwell Street, South Windsor, CT 06074. Festival hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 7pm; Sundays from 10am to 5pm.
