Crash Closes Route 5 In South Windsor
A person was taken to a hospital after a two-car and tractor-trailer crash near the I-291 ramps.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Route 5 southbound was closed Thursday afternoon near Chapel Road after a crash involving two cars and a tractor-trailer caused a significant fluid spill, fire officials said.
South Windsor Fire Department crews, police and Ambulance Service of Manchester personnel responded just after 3 p.m. to John Fitch Boulevard southbound at the I-291 ramps.
One person with a minor injury was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, according to the fire department.

Route 5 southbound at Chapel Road will remain closed until the vehicles are removed and the spill is cleared. Motorists should use alternate routes.
