Man Shoplifted At Target Hours After Being Released In Stop & Shop Shoplifting Case: South Windsor PD

A man is accused of stealing at Target just hours after he was released in connection with a shoplifting incident at Stop & Shop, police say

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — An East Windsor man is accused of stealing nearly $150 worth of merchandise from Target in South Windsor just hours after he was released in connection with a shoplifting incident at Stop & Shop, according to police.

Christopher J. Peters, 30, of East Windsor, was arrested around 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 on an arrest warrant in connection with the theft of $145 worth of merchandise from Stop & Shop in South Windsor in February, according to police.

Police said Peters was transferred to South Windsor police custody from the Manchester Police Department where he was processed and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.

Several hours after he was released, police said officers responded to Target at 125 Buckland Hill Drive on the report of a shoplifter-in-progress who was taken to the loss prevention office.

Police said officers identified Peters as the suspect. He was accused of stealing $149.54 worth of merchandise and was taken into custody, according to police.

Peters had already been trespassed from the store, police said.

Peters was charged with two counts of sixth-degree larceny and one count of first-degree criminal trespass. He was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.
