STAFFORD, CT — A Stafford man has been implicated in a pair of commercial burglaries in February, state police said.

Anthony Rodriguez, 28, of Stafford, was charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny for one incident and with third-degree burglary second-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny for another, according to an arrest report.

According to a warrant, on Feb. 6, a burglary was reported at Precious Pieces, a used furniture and antiques store at 55 West Stafford Road. A door had been smashed and a cash box had been broken into a ravaged, according to a warrant.

At the time, Rodriguez was being investigated for a burglary at the neighboring Subway, according to a warrant. He was identified as only two people with knowledge of a particular key location as an employee.

Suspicions arose regarding the Precious Pieces break-in when, tucked in a roll of cash Rodriguez possessed, was a rare 2-dollar bill, according to a warrant.
