WILLINGTON, CT — A highway traffic stop on Interstate 84 in Willington led to the seizure of a drug stash, state police said.

The stop took place at 1:33 p.m. and involved a Nissan Maxima, state police said.

After being pulled over, the driver refused to consent to a search, so state police called in Enfield police dog Britford, who promptly alerted troopers to the presence of drugs in the vehicle, according to an incident report.

A subsequent search uncovered 3.63 pounds of marijuana and approximately $1,000 in cash was located, according to an incident report.

The driver was then taken into custody without further incident, state police said.
