New Details Released In Child's Death After Apartment Window Fall: Stamford PD
An investigation is ongoing, according to police.
STAMFORD, CT — A 4-year-old child died Sunday evening after falling from a 10th-floor apartment window in Stamford, according to police.
Police said the incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. in the 70 block of Prospect Street.
A group of female residents on Prospect Street flagged down a Stamford police patrol supervisor and reported that a child had fallen from an apartment window, police said.

Police, along with Stamford fire and EMS personnel, immediately responded. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
There is no indication of foul play, but an investigation remains ongoing.

"On behalf of the City of Stamford, the Stamford Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the child’s family during this difficult time," police said in an update Monday afternoon. "The Department is also coordinating with its Behavioral Health Unit to help provide grief support services to the family."
