New AED Devices Installed At Locations Throughout Stamford

STAMFORD, CT — Mayor Caroline Simmons, city officials and community leaders from the In A Heartbeat Foundation and Lucky Mother initiative announced this week the installation of five new publicly accessible Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across Stamford.

The devices are intended to allow bystanders to provide lifesaving treatment before emergency responders arrive when someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest.

The new AEDs have been installed at the following locations:

• Cummings/West Beach soccer fields
• Frank Noto baseball field at West Beach
• AITE soccer fields
• Upper field at the Rippowam track and football field
• Scofield Magnet soccer field

"Having these AED devices in accessible and highly utilized public spaces ensures critical lifesaving resources are readily available in the event of an emergency," the city said in an announcement.

"Thank you to the city officials across the Office of Risk Management, the Parks and Recreation Department, and Public Safety, Health, and Welfare for their work in getting these new devices operational."
