Stamford Company Launches New Program To Support UConn

A Stamford company has launched a program to support UConn athletics, academics, research and the university's general endowment.

STAMFORD, CT — Newmark’s Stamford office has established a strategic program with the University of Connecticut to support university programs and student-athletes through a portion of fees generated by Newmark’s commercial real estate services.

The program allows UConn-affiliated companies or clients to direct a portion of transaction- or advisory-related fees generated by Newmark toward UConn athletics, academic and research initiatives or the university’s general endowment.

"We look forward to working with companies, investors, and real estate owners to support and invest in Connecticut’s flagship university,” said Executive Vice President & Managing Director at Newmark James Ritman. in a news release. "Newmark is proud to donate a portion of revenue on these transactions back to UConn in support of its programs."

Newmark opened its Connecticut office in 1993. The company says it has brokered headquarters transactions for Fortune 500 companies, attracted billions in real estate investment and helped drive job creation in the state.

"This program with Newmark is an exciting new opportunity that speaks to their dedication to making a real difference," said UConn Chief Operating Officer Jason Butikofer in a news release. "Knowing that businesses engaging Newmark’s real estate services can direct a portion of those proceeds to UConn Athletics is truly meaningful, and we are excited about the impact this program can have for our student-athletes and programs."
