Optimum Donates Nearly $5K To Stamford Educators
The donation was announced ahead of Teacher Appreciation Week, which runs through May 8.
STAMFORD, CT — Optimum last week announced a nearly $5,000 donation to Stamford educators through its partnership with the national education nonprofit DonorsChoose ahead of Teacher Appreciation Week, which runs from May 4 through May 8.
The donation recognized 20 educators honored during the Stamford Public Education Foundation’s 2026 Excellence in Education Awards held April 23.
According to Optimum, the educator named Teacher of the Year received a $1,000 DonorsChoose gift card, while the remaining 19 award recipients each received $200 gift cards. The cards can be redeemed through the DonorsChoose platform to purchase classroom tools, technologies and educational experiences.

The 19th annual Excellence in Education Awards recognized educators and community members dedicated to supporting students and families in Stamford Public Schools. The event brought together community members, corporations, school administrators, teachers, parents and nonprofit organizations to celebrate public education.
Optimum said the donation is part of its broader efforts to support education and community engagement across its service area, including expanding access to internet service, supporting STEM and educational programs, and providing resources for teachers and students.
