Grace Zaccagnino (DeBartolomeo), 97, died Jan. 25, 2026, working for many years alongside her husband at their family business, Sal’s Variety Shop, and spending her free time golfing, playing tennis and bocce in the Stamford Women’s league, traveling widely with Italy and the Holy Land among her favorite destinations, and enjoying winters in Florida with family.

Salvatore “Sal” Bonina, 68, died Jan. 23, 2026, a general contractor who worked with Bonina Construction and for more than 20 years with Deluca Construction managing projects across Stamford and surrounding communities, and who enjoyed family time, storytelling and attending his children’s Irish dance competitions and youth sports events.
Liam St. John Murphy, 83, died Jan. 16, 2026, a U.S. Army Vietnam-era advisor and longtime employee relocation executive who founded and published industry newsletters and pursued hobbies including travel, skiing, sailing on Long Island Sound, swimming, carpentry, theater and classical music.

Margaret F. Zaro, 78, died Jan. 15, 2026, a former governess who built a career as an interior decorator and was an avid seamstress, cook and ballroom dancer, and devoted to her family.
Faik “Frank” Lluhani, 79, died Jan. 14, 2026, a former government employee who later built a life in the United States and was an avid soccer fan who enjoyed traveling, sports and spending time with family and friends.
Fred Stanley Golove, 86, died Jan. 14, 2026, a retired two-star Rear Admiral in the U.S. Coast Guard and former IBM professional whose career in military service and technology was complemented by avid reading, history study and active leadership in Jewish community organizations.
Peter Joseph Magee, 96, died Jan. 9, 2026, a Marine Corps fighter pilot who flew more than 100 combat missions during the Korean War and later spent over four decades as an aviation attorney, combining his passion for flying with the law while also enjoying reading about history, politics and aviation and listening to Irish music.
Manuel Joaquin Castro Tapia, 88, died Jan. 8, 2026, a longtime Pitney Bowes stamp machine repairman known for his mechanical skill and hands-on work who enjoyed birdwatching, singing traditional songs, playing guitar and staying active with the company’s Golden Oldies group after retirement.
Rita Helene Zide, 87, died Jan. 7, 2026, a cosmetics and skincare professional who rose from retail to corporate sales training roles at Revlon and Erno Laszlo and later led the cosmetics department at Henri Bendel and worked at Tiffany & Co., while pursuing fashion, décor, philanthropy through The Pap Corps and time with family and friends.
Patricia Slyker Sullivan, 87, died Jan. 6, 2026, a licensed practical nurse who spent more than 40 years in patient care after serving as a foster mother and later continued working as a private duty nurse, dedicating her career to hands-on caregiving and supporting others.
Elizabeth Conner “Beth” Wallace, 68, died Jan. 5, 2026, a registered nurse and advanced practice registered nurse who began her career at St. Rafael’s Hospital and later served in cardiac recovery, testing and heart failure care at St. Vincent’s Hospital, known for her dedication to patients as well as her passions for competitive sailing on Long Island Sound, following the Red Sox and Notre Dame football, Irish music, and time with family.
Ralph A. Bounty, 99, died Jan. 1, 2026, a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, president of A.E. Bounty Building Supplies Co., stockbroker and local land developer who also helped found the Roxbury Swim & Tennis Club and spent decades playing tennis and paddle, boating with the Stamford Yacht Club, enjoying antique penny arcade machines and following Syracuse basketball and football.
Anthony “Tony” Joseph Guarino, 84, died Jan. 1, 2026, a communications industry employee and co-owner of Ichabod’s in Norwalk who also served in the National Guard and enjoyed time spent with relatives and friends throughout a long career in local business.
Roland Adrien Charles Thomasset, 96, died Jan. 1, 2026, a former Army serviceman and longtime photographer whose passion for capturing everyday scenes and travel moments shaped a creative life spent behind the camera.
Elisa M. Pavia (Prizio), 87, died Jan. 1, 2026, a businesswoman who ran an in-home nursery school, built a real estate and home-care personnel agency, managed a cleaning service, supported her husband’s real estate development company, and pursued lifelong interests in singing, painting for more than 50 years, cooking for family and traveling extensively across four continents.
