International Sea Glass Festival Returning To Mystic Seaport Museum

More than 50 juried artisans, craftspeople and authors will display sea glass-inspired artwork, jewelry and books.

MYSTIC, CT — The International Sea Glass Festival will return to Mystic Seaport Museum later this month, bringing collectors, artists and beachcombing enthusiasts together for a two-day event.

The 22nd annual festival is scheduled for July 25-26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The event is presented in partnership with the International Sea Glass Association.

More than 50 juried artisans, craftspeople and authors will display sea glass-inspired artwork, jewelry and books. Visitors can also attend lectures by beachcombing experts in the Tom Clagett Boat Shed.

One of the festival's featured events, the Collectors Showcase, will take place Saturday and feature private collections of sea glass, beach pottery, sea marbles, antique bottles and other shoreline finds.

On Sunday, attendees can enter their own discoveries in the Sea Glass Contest. Awards will be presented in a range of categories.

Family activities will be offered throughout the weekend.

Admission to the festival is included with Mystic Seaport Museum admission and is free for museum members. Tickets purchased for the event are valid for both days. Museum members and International Sea Glass Association members will receive early admission beginning at 9 a.m. on July 25.

A portion of festival proceeds will benefit the Ocean Recovery Community Alliance.
