New Fire Chief Named In Stonington
A new head of the Stonington Borough Fire Department has been named, replacing a chief who has served for 35 years.
STONINGTON, CT — Tom Martin will be the next fire chief and fire marshal of the Stonington Borough Fire Department, according to WTNH News-8. The move will go into effect July 5.
Martin has been with the Waterford fire system for 25 years. He started as a volunteer with the Oswegatchie Fire Company and rose to serve as fire inspector, according to The Westerly Sun.
Martin is working with current Stonington Fire Chief Jeff Hoadley during a transition period until July 4. Hoadley has served as chief for 35 years.
