Sweet Treats Business Owner Makes 'Difficult Decision' In Stonington

STONINGTON, CT — The owner of Waffle Pop Sweet Shop and Mama Emily's Sweet Treats announced she intends to sell the businesses.

"Over the past several years, I have poured an enormous amount of time, energy, creativity, and love into building Mama Emily’s Sweet Treats and Waffle Pop Sweet Shop," she wrote in a Facebook post Aug. 19. "Both businesses have become so much more than businesses to me. They’ve become part of our community, part of so many families’ traditions and celebrations, and a huge part of my own life.

"Recently, some unforeseen personal and family circumstances have significantly changed where my time and attention need to be.

"After a lot of thought and prayer, I’ve made the difficult decision to begin looking for the right new owner(s) for both Waffle Pop Sweet Shop and Mama Emily’s Sweet Treats."

She added that the businesses are available individually and do not need to be purchased together.

She wrote that the businesses are both "well-loved throughout our community, have recognizable brands, established customer bases, strong relationships, operating systems, equipment, and tremendous opportunities for continued growth."

Mama Emily's Sweet Treats is available as an established mobile ice cream business. The neighborhood ice cream truck can also be booked for parties and events.

Waffle Pop Sweet Shop at 110 W. Broad St. in Pawcatuck is a "turnkey" business opportunity, including equipment, furnishing, recipes and more. The shop offers sweet and savory waffle pops along with a wide selection of candy.

Currently, both businesses remain open.
