Dog ‘Forcefully Dumped’ In Street, Suspect Sought: Stratford Animal Control

STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Animal Control is asking for help with finding a man involved with abandoning a dog in Stratford on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

At around 7:13 p.m., a witness reported seeing an “adult white male with a husky build parked in a white truck on Hillside Avenue,” according to the animal control.

“According to the witness, the man exited the vehicle, walked to the passenger side, and forcefully dumped a young male Beagle into the street,” the animal control wrote in a post on Facebook. “The vehicle then turned right onto Main Street and traveled in the direction of Barnum Avenue.

“The Beagle is a young, intact male and is now safe in our care.

“Unfortunately, the witness was unable to obtain a license plate number or photograph.”

The animal control is asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or recognizes the dog, or has home/business surveillance or doorbell camera footage from the area around 7:13 p.m. to call 203-385-4068 or email acos@townofstratford.com.

Desmond’s Army Animal Law Advocates is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person responsible, according to the animal control. The reward offer is valid for 90 days.
