Suffield Regional Agriscience Invites Public To ‘Bears In Connecticut’ Forum

The informational meeting will explore growing black bear concerns across the state.

SUFFIELD, CT — As black bear sightings continue to spark debate across Connecticut, a local agricultural program is inviting residents to take part in a public forum focused on the issue.

Suffield Regional Agriscience is hosting an “Agriscience Issues Forum: Bears in Connecticut” on Wednesday, March 11, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at East Windsor Scout Hall, 28 Abbe Road in East Windsor.

According to event organizers, the forum will focus on bear conflicts in Connecticut and is designed to support the school’s 2026-27 Agricultural Issues team as it works toward competing at the state level.

The informational meeting is open to the public. It aims to explore the growing challenges surrounding Connecticut’s black bear population, a topic that has drawn increasing attention from residents and lawmakers in recent years.
