Suffield Residents Get New Composting Option
Sustainable Suffield will host a March 14 event at the Ebbs Corner Fire Station.
SUFFIELD, CT — A new option for composting food scraps has arrived in West Suffield, giving residents another way to cut down on household waste.
The latest food-scrap dumpster is now open behind the Ebbs Corner Fire Station at 3 Copper Hill Road, directly across from the Mountain Road entrance, according to Sustainable Suffield.

Residents can drop off food scraps loose, in biodegradable bags, or in paper grocery bags. Plastic bags are not permitted.
Sustainable Suffield will host a community drop-in event at the Ebbs Corner station on March 14 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Organizers will hand out free kitchen bins and compostable bags while supplies last, along with coffee and donuts for attendees.

The new West Suffield dumpster was funded through a grant from the Suffield Garden Club, organizers said.
