Frederick C. “Fred” Vegliante, 97, of North Haven, beloved husband of 65 years to the late Elizabeth R. Bartholomew Vegliante, passed away on January 14, 2026 surrounded by his family at The Landing of North Haven. Beloved father of Christopher (Kimberly) Vegliante and Steven (Rosemary) Vegliante all of Killingworth and Frederick T. (Karen) Vegliante of Merrimack, NH. Fred is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Brother of Carmen (Angela) Vegliante of North Haven. Fred was born in New Haven on October 29, 1928 son of the late Carmen and Antoinette D’Arche Vegliante. He graduated from UCONN with a degree in pharmacy. Prior to his retirement, Fred was the owner of Central Pharmacy of North Branford. He served his country faithfully in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Fred was proud of his experience in obtaining his pilot’s license and flying a Cessna around the state as a hobby. He enjoyed the thrill of a good blackjack table at Mohegan Sun. He walked away with more than he went in with nearly every time.
Family and friends are invited to A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ambrose Parish in St. Augustine Church on SATURDAY morning, January 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery located in Westbrook. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monastery of Our Lady of Grace, 11 Race Hill Rd., North Guilford, CT 06437.
