East Lyme Selectmen To Consider Police Union Contract, Noise Variance Request

East Lyme selectmen will consider a police union contract, a noise variance and community funding on July 1.

EAST LYME, CT — The Board of Selectmen is scheduled to consider ratification of a new police union contract and a request for a noise variance for the Parks and Recreation Department during its regular meeting July 1.

The meeting will begin immediately following a special town meeting scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in the Upper Meeting Room at East Lyme Town Hall.

One of the board's principal agenda items is consideration of a proposed contract with Local 2852, Council 4, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, which represents members of the East Lyme Police Department. The board is scheduled to discuss the agreement in executive session before returning to public session for possible ratification. Personnel matters are also listed for executive session discussion.

Under old business, selectmen will consider distribution of funding for community service organizations included in the town's 2026-27 budget.

The board is also expected to act on a request for a noise variance submitted by the Parks and Recreation Department and consider an appointment to the Pension Board.

Other agenda items include approval of the June 17 meeting minutes, ex-officio reports, the First Selectman's report, public comment and communications.

The meeting will be televised on local cable channels and streamed live through the Town of East Lyme's website and YouTube channel.
