Sessa, Trainor, Hartung: Recent Death Notices From Old Lyme

OLD LYME, CT — Recent death notices from Old Lyme.

Patricia Margaret Trainor, 70, of Old Lyme, died Aug. 30, 2026. She held degrees from SUNY Brockport, San Diego State International University and Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She worked as associate director of graduate writing support at Yale University's Poorvu Center after earlier roles as an appellate court judicial clerk and legal writing instructor. She is survived by her husband, Don LeRoi, two children and five siblings.

Roderic Michael Hartung, 87, of Old Lyme, died Aug. 27, 2026. He worked as an architect for more than 50 years and received Connecticut Society of Architects honor awards. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1961. He is survived by ten nieces and nephews.

David Ralph Long, 85, of Old Lyme, died Aug. 23, 2026. He served seven years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln submarine based in Groton and graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1971. He worked in construction management, most recently at Fusco Corp., and served as project manager for the UConn 2000 Chemistry Building. He is survived by his wife, Sandy, and daughter Bethany.

Thomas "Tom" Sessa, 75, of Old Lyme, died Aug. 9, 2026. A professional driver from age 14 with a lifelong devotion to restoring Mack trucks, he later became a commercial-rated pilot and received the FAA's Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for 50 years of aviation safety. He and his wife also owned and operated a paving and excavation business. He is survived by his wife, Birute Sessa, and his sister, Sandee Rainville.
