3 Hurt As Truck, Van Collide In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — Three people were taken to area hospitals as a box truck and van collided in Tolland, fire officials said.

The crash occurred late Wednesday morning at the intersection of Grant Hill and New roads, fire officials said.

It appeared a full-size commercial van tangled with a box truck with the van getting the worst of things. Images from the scene show the van with a smashed front end and deployed airbags.

The transports required two Tolland ambulances and one Vernon ambulance.

Grant Hill Road was closed while crews swept away debris and tended to the vehicles.
