New And Improved Crandall Pond Ready For 2026 Tolland Beach Season

Memorial Day weekend marks the start of the public swimming season in Tolland.

TOLLAND, CT — The 2026 beach season in Tolland officially begins this weekend and features a new and improved Crandall Park swimming area.

The season runs from Saturday through Labor Day weekend. Daily hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Tolland Department of Public Works and the Tolland Fire Department have been hard at work improving the beach and pond for the upcoming season.

Gone is an outdated dock.

Swim line anchors and poles, swim area buoy lines are in place and the two collaborated on the installation of the pond fountain.

Fresh sand is on the beach.

Pesky weeds have been removed.

"These collaborative efforts are part of what make Tolland such a great community to be a part of," town officials said.

Here are some rules:

  • Swimmers must remain within the designated swimming area marked by the buoy line.
  • No lifeguards are on duty.
  • All visitors must swim responsibly
  • Children should always be closely supervised by an adult
