Employee Injured In Armed Robbery At Trumbull Gas Station: Police

Police said two masked men displayed handguns and threatened employees and customers during an armed robbery at a gas station in Trumbull.

TRUMBULL, CT — An employee sustained minor injuries during an armed robbery reported Thursday night at a gas station in Trumbull, according to the Trumbull Police Department.

In a news release, Police Lt. Brian Falkenstein said employees of a Shell gas station on White Plains Road reported around 9:30 p.m. an armed robbery at the service station.

According to Falkenstein, two masked men displayed handguns and threatened employees and customers who were in the store at the time.

One of the suspects struck an employee in the head with an open hand during the robbery, according to Falkenstein.

The employee was later treated for a minor injury at the scene by Trumbull EMS, Falkenstein said.

No other employees or customers were injured as a result of the incident, according to Falkenstein.

The suspects fled with an undetermined amount of cash and escaped in a vehicle that was waiting nearby, Falkenstein said.

"From the preliminary information gathered, officers and detectives believe the suspects were able to quickly escape in a waiting vehicle that was parked on an adjacent side street from the gas station but are following several leads," Falkenstein said in a news release.

Falkenstein noted the investigation is continuing with the help of numerous witnesses and a variety of evidence that was collected from the scene.
