Vernon Garden Club announces the 2026 Plant Sale&nbsp;on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 8am to 11:30am. (In case of pouring rain, it will be held the following Saturday, May 16.)&nbsp; Perennials for sun and shade, bulbs, herbs and unusual plants from members own gardens will be available along with some house plants and a gardeners' white elephant table.&nbsp; Proceeds will help fund the RHS Scholarship award and maintain two community gardens in Vernon and Rockville.&nbsp; More information, call (860) 926-4332.

Together, we will observe the natural world and record our experiences through writing and expressive sketching in a laid-back community atmosphere. Learn to cultivate a practice of mindful awareness in order to deepen your connection with yourself, others, and the natural world. We will explore the vast tapestry of nature, noticing textures, patterns, colors, and sounds, and tune into the senses in depth. In this meditative class, we will learn different methods of recording our findings and experiences on the nature journal page through a variety of writing and sketching techniques. These practices have been shown to ease loneliness and help us feel a part of the great whole of Life, and make us feel more connected to ourselves and others.
