Lane Closures Announced On I-91 In Wallingford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is advising motorists of lane closures that will be in effect on I-91 in Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced lane closures that will be in effect on I-91 north and southbound from Exit 15 to the Wallingford / Meriden town line for a project that starts next week.

Officials said that geotechnical subsurface investigations, otherwise known as soil borings, will be performed related to the replacement of the Carpenter Lane bridge over I-91 in Wallingford.

“These soil borings are performed to determine the type of soil, and the depth and location of the rock under the ground surface,” officials wrote in an advisory. “This information is used by the project team to design the bridge foundations to be constructed by a contractor.”
