Powder-Like Substance Closes CT Lottery Headquarters In Wallingford
A letter containing an unknown powder-like substance temporarily closed the Connecticut Lottery headquarters in Wallingford, officials said.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A letter containing an unknown powder-like substance temporarily closed the Connecticut Lottery headquarters in Wallingford on Tuesday, according to officials.
Officials said the Connecticut Lottery Corporation received the letter Tuesday at its headquarters on 15 Sterling Drive in Wallingford.
“Local, state, and federal law enforcement responded promptly and conducted environmental testing,” the Connecticut Lottery Corporation said in a statement. “Authorities confirmed that no hazardous materials were detected. There were no injuries to CLC employees.”

The CT Lottery claims center will remain closed for the rest of Tuesday and will reopen for normal business operations on Wednesday, according to officials.
“The Connecticut Lottery Corporation is grateful for the swift response and coordination of its law enforcement and public safety partners,” the statement reads. “The safety of employees, players, and the public remains the organization’s highest priority.”
