Flu Season In West Hartford, How To Get Vaccinated

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District has announced a series of public flu vaccination clinics this fall, including several dates in West Hartford.

Vaccines will be available to people ages 4 and older, according to the Health District.

Residents attending a clinic should bring identification and their insurance cards.

The district said it accepts Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, ConnectiCare, UnitedHealthcare, Medicaid, and Medicare.

For people without insurance, a flu vaccine costs $50, and a high-dose flu vaccine costs $100.

Upcoming clinics listed by the district include:

• Sept. 26: West Hartford Public Safety Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 50 S. Main St., West Hartford.
• Oct. 1: West Hartford Town Hall, 3 to 7 p.m., 50 S. Main St.
• Oct. 5: Conard High School, 3 to 7 p.m., 110 Beechwood Road.
• Oct. 6: Bloomfield Senior Center, 10 a.m. to noon and 4 to 6 p.m., 330 Park Ave., Bloomfield.
• Oct. 8: Mandell JCC, 8 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m., 335 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford.
• Oct. 13: West Hartford Town Hall, 3 to 7 p.m.
• Oct. 19: King Philip Middle School, 3 to 7 p.m., 100 King Philip Drive.
• Oct. 20: Elmwood Senior Center, 3 to 6:30 p.m., 1106 New Britain Ave.
• Oct. 30: Bishop's Corner Senior Center, 9:30 a.m. to noon, 15 Starkel Road.
• Nov. 9: West Hartford Town Hall, 3 to 7 p.m.

The schedule also included a Sept. 15 clinic at the Bloomfield Senior Expo, which has already taken place.

Sensory-friendly clinics are available by appointment at the Health District's office.
