Major Road Resurfacing Project Resumes In West Hartford, What Roads Are Impacted?
West Hartford's second round of road resurfacing begins with daytime work on local streets and overnight paving on a major roadway.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — The Town of West Hartford was to begin its second round of road resurfacing projects on Monday, July 6, weather permitting, with work scheduled on neighborhood streets and an overnight project along Farmington Avenue.
The town maintains approximately 217 miles of roadway and resurfaces an average of 8.5 miles each year, including both reconstruction and repaving projects.
According to the town's engineering division, roads rated in extremely poor condition receive priority for paving.

Construction will include both daytime and nighttime operations.
Daytime work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., while overnight work will occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Town officials said milling operations are expected to take about 1½ weeks, including one overnight shift, while paving is anticipated to take approximately three weeks and will also require one overnight shift.
Traffic will be managed with the assistance of police officers and flaggers.
The daytime resurfacing schedule includes the following roads:
- Federal Street
- Boswell Road
- Hooker Drive
- Fairlee Road
- Wardwell Road (Boulevard to Sedgwick Road)
- Treeborough Drive
- Glen Hollow
- Claybar Drive
- Mountain Road Loop (Treeborough Drive to Mountain Road)
- Lostbrook Road
- King Edward Road
- Hiram Road
- Morton Lane
- King Philip Drive (from Tumblebrook Lane to the end of the road)
- Aiken School bus loop off King Philip Drive
Overnight work is planned on Farmington Avenue between Trout Brook Drive and Main Street.
Milling is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Sunday, July 12, with paving scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Sunday, July 19.
Town officials encourage motorists to expect delays in work areas and to follow posted traffic controls.
