Major West Hartford Town Hall Parking Lot Project Begins

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A two-phase project to improve drainage and paving in the West Hartford Town Hall parking lot was scheduled to begin Wednesday, Aug. 12, with construction expected to affect parking and traffic patterns for several weeks.

The first phase of the project will focus on the main travel lane, primarily between the midway crosswalk and the Raymond Road entrance.

Work will initially cover the area west of the police department parking lot to the crosswalk.

Once construction reaches the crosswalk, visitors will be directed to enter the property from Raymond Road.

Parking on the south side of Town Hall near the West Hartford Farmers Market will be limited at that point and accessible only through the 50 S. Main St. entrance.

Parking spaces along Burr Street have been reserved for Town Hall business and activities to help offset the temporary reduction in visitor parking.

The project will be completed in two phases, with each phase expected to take a few weeks.

Parking availability and traffic patterns will change as construction progresses.

The improvements also include the installation of two permanent speed bumps.
