October In West Hartford: Fall Fun, Festivals & More

Fall is officially here in West Hartford, and there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of it. From festivals and farmers markets to pumpkin patches, live music and other seasonal fun, October brings plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy what’s happening close to home.

Here are some events and activities happening in and around West Hartford this October.

Blue Back Farmers’ Market

When: Sundays now through Oct. 25, 2026, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: West Hartford Town Hall Lot | 50 South Main Street, West Hartford

Fresh produce, locally raised meat, coffee, bagels and more are all part of a Sunday morning at the Blue Back Farmers’ Market. The West Hartford market also pairs its lineup of local vendors with live music and special events, giving visitors plenty of reasons to linger after shopping. The market continues every Sunday through Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

October Paint & Sip

When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Where: Ben & Jerry’s | 5 1/2 South Main Street, West Hartford

Ghosts, pumpkins and bottomless milkshakes come together at the October Paint & Sip at Ben & Jerry’s in West Hartford. A local artist will provide step-by-step guidance as participants create a seasonal painting, with all supplies, unlimited milkshakes and the finished artwork included. Tickets are $28.32; no painting experience is necessary and space is limited, so advance reservations are encouraged.

Pumpkins & Squash - Life On Webster Farm

When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, 12 to 2 p.m.
Where: Noah Webster House | 227 South Main Street, West Hartford

There’s more to pumpkins than jack-o’-lanterns at Pumpkins & Squash — Life On The Webster Farm at the Noah Webster House. Guests will learn about the importance of squash to Indigenous peoples and early American colonists, sample an early American recipe and make a paper pumpkin. The program is included with museum admission, and children 12 and younger receive free general admission for the event.

Halloween Stroll 2026

When: Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: Blue Back Square | 65 Memorial Road, West Hartford

Costumed kids can fill their treat bags while exploring West Hartford Center, Blue Back Square and the Town Hall Lawn during Halloween Stroll 2026. The free celebration features trick-or-treating at participating businesses, plus giveaways and live music from Sunny Train. In case of bad weather, the fun will move to the rain date of Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026.

Spooky Cute Party

When: Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Angel Land | 1433 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford

For Halloween fun that won’t get rained out, the Spooky Cute Party at Angel Land offers a full day of indoor play, costumes and treats. Bluey and Bingo will stop by for a meet-and-greet from 11 a.m. to noon, while little ones can also dance, win prizes and grab a treat between rounds of play. The festivities are included with regular weekend admission, and families can stay and play as long as they like.
