Reckless Speeder Charged In West Hartford: Police
West Hartford police arrested a driver accused of traveling more than twice the speed limit on Albany Avenue Thursday morning.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — A driver was arrested Thursday morning after police said the vehicle was traveling 90 mph in a 40 mph zone on Albany Avenue.
Members of the West Hartford Police Department's Traffic Division were conducting targeted traffic enforcement near 2651 Albany Ave. when an officer spotted the vehicle, according to police on Thursday.
The officer stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, police said.

The department did not identify the driver or provide information about the charges in its announcement.
The reported speed was 50 mph above the posted limit.

"Excessive speed places everyone on the roadway at risk," police said.
The department said its Traffic Division will continue targeted enforcement around West Hartford in an effort to address dangerous driving.
