Easton Man Dies After Route 8 Motorcycle Crash: State Police

Police said the 68-year-old lost control of his motorcycle.

EASTON, CT — An Easton man died after losing control of his motorcycle on a Route 8 exit ramp in Thomaston Sunday afternoon, according to Connecticut State Police.

John Kastanaras, 68, was riding a 2004 Harley-Davidson FXSTDI on the Route 8 South Exit 40 off-ramp around 1:32 p.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck a metal guardrail on the right shoulder, state police said.

Kastanaras was transported by Thomaston EMS to Waterbury Hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to the crash summary.
