TIME 6-8PM, June 4th. “Piece by Piece”&nbsp;is a striking 6-foot-high by 8-foot-wide collaborative installation inspired by an iconic work of American art. The mural was divided into a grid of 48 individual square panels, each reimagined by a different member of the&nbsp;Artists Collective of Westport. Reveal is at 7PM. Without knowing the identity of the original artwork, each artist received only a printout of a single 12” x 12” section and a blank panel on which to create their own interpretation using any medium they chose. The result is a vibrant and often surprising mosaic of styles, perspectives, and artistic voices — a playful yet powerful celebration of community, creativity, and collaboration. As the individual pieces come together, the larger image is gradually revealed, reminding viewers that every contribution plays a role in the creation of something greater than itself.

 The theme of&nbsp;“American Journeys,”&nbsp;the all-member exhibition presented by the&nbsp;Artists Collective of Westport, was inspired by this year’s national commemoration of America’s 250th birthday. The title reflects the idea that there is no single American journey, but rather a tapestry of countless personal paths, experiences, struggles, and triumphs that together define the American story. More than 60 members of the Collective contributed work to the exhibition, offering a rich diversity of artistic expression and interpretation. All works are available for purchase and are on view in the Sheffer and South Galleries at the&nbsp;Westport Library.

About Endea Owens Known as one of Jazz’s most vibrant emerging artists, Endea Owens is a Detroit-raised Recording Artist, Bassist, and Composer. She has been mentored by Jazz Icons the likes of Marcus Belgrave, Rodney Whitaker, and Ron Carter. She has toured and performed with Wynton Marsalis, Jennifer Holliday, Diana Ross, Rhonda Ross, Solange, Jon Batiste, Jazzmeia Horn, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Steve Turre, to name a few.
In 2018, Endea graduated from The Juilliard School, and joined the Late Show with Stephen Colbert as a member of the house band, Stay Human. Since then, Endea has won an Emmy, Grammy Award, and a George Foster Peabody Award. Endea’s work has appeared on Jon Batiste’s Grammy Award-winning album “We Are”, Oscar-nominated film Judas and the Black Messiah, and H.E.R’s widely acclaimed Super Bowl LV performance.
Endea has a true passion for philanthropy and teaching. She has taught students across the United States, South America, and Europe. In 2020, Endea founded the Community Cookout, a non-profit organization born out of the Covid-19 pandemic that provides meals and music to underserved neighborhoods in New York City. To date, Endea’s organization has helped feed close to 3,000 New Yorkers and has hosted over a dozen free music concerts.
In 2022, she composed “Ida’s Crusade” for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. In 2023, she premiered a newly commissioned work with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, served as the MAC Music Innovator, continued her work as curator for the National Arts Club, and was a fellow with the National Jazz Museum in Harlem’s “Jazz Is Now!” program. Her debut album, Feel Good Music, was released in 2023, followed by Caught Up in This Illusion in 2025.

In the event of rain, the rain date will be Sunday, June 7, 2026.The popular community event will feature a wide array of classic, antique, custom, and exotic cars all on display in the heart of Greenwich.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund. The family-friendly event will feature a DJ, a 50/50 raffle, food trucks, and more, creating a festive atmosphere for car enthusiasts and families alike.
Sponsorship opportunities begin at just $50, with options such as $125 for a Trophy Sponsor&nbsp;and $250 for an on-site sponsor package. Automobile dealership opportunities begin at $500, which includes on-site participation and the opportunity to display a vehicle. Greenwich Magazine/Moffly Media will once again serve as the exclusive media sponsor.
“This year’s car show is especially meaningful as the Greenwich Police Department celebrates 130 years of service to the community,” said Chief of Police James Heavey. “For more than a century, our officers have worked to protect and serve the residents of Greenwich with professionalism and dedication. The Scholarship Fund reflects our commitment to supporting the families of those officers, and the car show is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate that legacy, and help invest in the next generation.”
Children of Greenwich Police officers who demonstrate ability, character, and academic promise&nbsp;and who qualify for undergraduate studies&nbsp;are eligible to receive financial assistance through the Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund.

In 1995, He began teaching at Merritt Music of New Canaan CT.  Demand grew rapidly, and soon private drum lessons were made available in Westport, and has expanded throughout southern Connecticut into Southport, Fairfield, Weston, Wilton, Norwalk, Redding, and New Canaan. Was  Jim manages to maintain a roster of between 30-40 steady drum students per week with unmatched longevity and loyalty.  "I must be the luckiest person ever." Jim explains: "To be able to share music ideas with these wonderful, interested and aspiring drummers. - Where can you find better company than that? It's a real privilege for me”.  Jim learned the basics from college professor Ray Alexander, who studied with Henry Adler, who was known as the premier drum teacher of the New York scene for the last 55 years. Mr. Adler was well known in the drumming industry as the teacher who was responsible for assisting musically and professionally - the greatest drummer of ALL times: the world famous - Buddy Rich. - The two collaborated on writing the classic and timeless drum method book "Buddy Rich's Snare Drum Rudiments", which is an integral part of Jim's drumming curriculum. There is no substitute for the right fundamental foundation. The students who work with Jim know that they have found the "main vein" of learning the drums. And it is exciting to know that they can trace their roots back to the great Mr. Buddy Rich himself... Jim is pupil-oriented instructor, able to teach beginners, novices, and experts by truly connecting with student at their level, and provide the right focus, insight, and attention that makes drum lessons have much deeper value and meaning. He keeps pupils engaged, inspired and constantly learning: the guiding principle. Jim’s students say it best by showing continued loyalty year after year.
