Fines To Double In Westport For Railroad Parking Violators

"This measure is intended to ensure that permit parking designated areas remain accessible only to parking permit holders."

WESTPORT, CT — Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 20, Westport is doubling the fine for non-permit holder parking violators at both Westport Railroad Station lots, Saugatuck and Greens Farms, according to police.

The fine, currently $25, will double to $50 for non-permit holders parking in permit holder designated areas of the lots. The move comes after a request by the Westport Police Department, which the Board of Selectmen recently approved.

"This measure is intended to ensure that permit parking designated areas remain accessible only to parking permit holders," Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso said in a statement. "As has always been the case, daily parking areas are available at both stations for non-permit holders."
