Westport Lifts Emergency Declaration After Sunday's Snow Storm

WESTPORT, CT — Westport has lifted the local emergency declaration issued for Sunday's winter storm, Fire Chief Nick Marsan announced Monday afternoon.

"Conditions have stabilized, municipal operations are returning to normal, and emergency orders associated with the local declaration have been rescinded," Marsan said in a statement.

Westport received about a foot of snow on Sunday and early Monday, while other parts of the state received as much as 20 inches.

"Thank you to our DPW crews, public safety teams, and residents for working together to keep Westport safe," Marsan added. "Please continue to use caution on icy spots and help keep hydrants and roadways clear."
