Westport Lifts Parking Ban After Winter Storm
Westport and other Fairfield County communities received more than a foot of snow during this week's storm.
WESTPORT, CT — Westport's townwide parking ban that was in place during this week's snowstorm has been lifted, according to officials.
Schools remained closed for a second consecutive day on Tuesday, and Westport Public Library was scheduled to open at noon on Tuesday.
"Conditions have stabilized, municipal operations are returning to normal, and all emergency orders associated with the declaration have been rescinded," officials wrote in a statement Tuesday.

Westport and other Fairfield County communities received more than a foot of snow during the storm, which led to Town Hall and many government services being closed on Monday.
Officials added, "The Town extends its appreciation to Department of Public Works crews, public safety personnel, and residents for working together to keep Westport safe during this significant weather event."

Some roads remained slippery on Tuesday, and authorities reminded residents "to continue using caution in areas where icy conditions may persist and to assist by keeping fire hydrants and roadways clear."
