Westport P&Z To Review Text Amendment On Historic Residential Structures

At a meeting next week, the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission will consider proposed changes to historic structure zoning rules.

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. on July 20 to consider Text Amendment #871 to the town's zoning regulations.

According to Planning and Zoning Director Michelle Perillie, the proposed amendment would revise Section 32-18, Historic Residential Structure (HRS), by increasing the eligibility threshold for principal structures from 1800 to 1830 for the subdivision incentive.

The proposal also would eliminate eligibility for certain historic structures built between 1800 and 1940 to qualify for the subdivision incentive based on exceptional historic or architectural significance.
